Rosemary Travale | Live to eat, not eat to live
Live to eat, not eat to live.”的生活态度。

In Canada, foodoll meets Rosemary. Rosemary is a graphic artist and crafter.
Foodoll: “I like to eat sugar, chocolate, cake, but my teeth always complain me.”
Rosemary: “I like the dessert, too. I ever cook chocolate marble cheesecake, but I failed.”
The terrible experience
My most memorable cooking experience is when I tried to make a chocolate marble cheesecake for a Christmas dinner party my family was having. I failed miserably! The cake was terrible, so it went to waste. But I did learn from the experience, so the next time I tried the recipe, it turned out much better!
Rosemary’s favorite course
My favorite course of the day is lunchtime. It’s a nice break! I usually make a sandwich for myself in the morning, or the night before, to take to college with me during the day. My favorite sort of sandwich is grilled chicken on a whole wheat bun with alfalfa sprouts, avocado, and honey mustard sauce. I wrap it up in plastic and take it away just like that.
Since I’m still a student, I live at home with my parents. My mother makes dinner for our family, but I take care of my other meals during the day. So between lunch and dinner, and any other snacks I make for myself, I usually spend under an hour cooking each day.
Rosemary: “I grew up with the saying “live to eat, not eat to live”, so I enjoy all meals.”
“生存就是为了享受食物,而不是为生存而进食。”
Foodoll: “So, I think eating seems like traveling, I like to know where food came from”
Rosemary: “Oh…Maybe I have an Italian ancestry, so I appreciate the different types of pasta.”
Different food, different result!
I am the sort of person who will try any sort of food at least once, and because of this I can appreciate most kinds of foods. But since I have an Italian ancestry, I have grown to really appreciate the versatility of different types of pasta. Depending what type of noodles and sauces you use when making a pasta dish, you can get a completely different result!
My favourite dessert food is a fresh cannoli, which is an Italian pastry that is made up of a fried dough shell that is filled with ricotta cheese and vanilla. I have never made them myself, but it is a nice treat to go to the bakery and pick one up that is freshly made!
Rosemary’s favor meals
I usually have something light for breakfast, such as cereal or fruit, something a little larger for lunch, like a sandwich and some vegetables, and then a large meal for dinner that usually consists of a meat, two vegetables, something dairy, a large salad, and then maybe some fruit for desert.
Foodoll: “I excited when I saw the fresh food.”
Rosemary: “Yes, Meals can refresh my mind, too. With any sort of work, it’s important to take a step away from it sometimes, so you can come back to it with a cleared mind. And so mealtimes are perfect for that sort of thing!”
Rosemary’s favorite creative stage
I like the discovery of ideas. Planning a project out is fun because you can spend so much time on different ideas, and sketching it out or looking for inspiration and looking at different aspects of what you hope to accomplish. Then you get to search through all the work you’ve done and decide what is important for the project, and what can be put aside and maybe used in the future for something else.
Rosemary’s weekly schedule
During the week I usually wake up early, around 6 or so, have a shower and get ready for school with some breakfast. Then I drive to the college, which is about an hour drive. I have about one or two three hour classes every day, and I try to fit a lunch in there somewhere. When I’m done my classes I drive back home, usually relax for an hour or so by having a snack and either playing some video games or looking at things on the internet. Then I spent the majority of the rest of the day working on homework and other personal art projects, dinner gets fitted in there somewhere, and I’ll take some time to make a lunch for the next day.
Rosemary’s planning
I am in my last year of the Bachelor of Applied Arts Illustration program at Sheridan college. So I am going to continue working hard at school to finish and get my diploma and then once I do, I will continue to do what I love by creating art and inspiring others to do the same! I feel very lucky that my favorite hobby of making art and creating things will become my career! And for more immediate plans, I think I’m going to go eat one of those cannoli before they get eaten by everyone else in my household!
I look like cute and friendly
I try to make my artwork look very cute and friendly, and also bright and vibrant, and I think this reflects how I look, and also the type of personality I have. I prefer to be silly and laugh than always be serious.
