我的出生地佛山，最出名的就是石湾陶瓷，在那里还可以找到陶瓷的手作坊。不过一般家庭装修用的瓷砖早就大批量生产并卖到全国，所以当我看到pyglet的手绘瓷砖时，是一阵雀跃。

《Affa hands and minds cultzine》第一期采访了来自澳洲的pyglet。简洁的线条，清新的花纹，七彩的圆点，她手绘的瓷砖有一种柔和的质感，经过烧制后即可以使用，你可以按需订购，这绝对是独一无二的限量品。除此以外，她还制作一系列布偶和剪纸。采访时候，她告诉我，可以用pyglet whispers称呼她，因为她喜欢小声说话。访问的过程很有趣，我一边提问，她也一边提问，为什么问题都和食物有关的？我很少做食物的，这个问题怎回答呢？……

In Australia, Foodoll meets pyglet whispers, pyglet whispers likes to make ceramics.

Foodoll: “My mouth is the place that I argue with the food, I　often win!”
pyglet whispers: “I would prefer to keep my voice to a low whisper and let my work do the loudest talking for me, so I like to be known as “piglet” from “pyglet whispers ”.”
我比较喜欢小声说话，这让我的工作能为我大声发言。

Take-away for relaxing
I love to eat outside and it is all the more special as I don’t get to do it as often. My favourite food is lemon meringue pie. I can cook it but very rarely do.
I sometimes treat myself whilst I am working. My favourite thing would be a large take-away cappuccino and a small lemon　meringue pie. It is very relaxing and gets me out of my house for a while! bliss!

Favor meals of pyglet whispers
Breakfast: Eggs Florentine outside overlooking the beach.
Lunch: Chinese yum cha. My little girl can now use her own chopsticks. We think she is very clever.
Dinner: Japanese food, especially sashimi.

Foodool: “Someone says that my stomach is messy.”
pyglet whispers: “haha… your stomach like my working room.”

Enjoy mess
I enjoy the planning phases of the creative process, drawing designs, choosing colours, fabrics and patterns. Of course the moment that you finish a project is also enjoyable and very rewarding, that also means you can start to plan the next project.
My process is quite disorganised. I like to have all my materials around me and I prefer putting the creative process before keeping tidy or organised. Some might call me messy. I am currently working on some new ceramic mug mats.
I have dragonfly art toys cut out ready for assembly. I also have art toy frogs currently in an exhibition in Seattle U.S.A.

pyglet whispers’s working day
My life is very plain. Since having children my life has become very simple and there is not as much opportunity to enjoy wonderful food as I used to.
I spend my days with my little girl. We often craft and play together, on my sewing machine, painting or outside on my laptop, whilst she plays, or glues or draws on her chalk board. I think she is a keen artist as well.

不同的食物有不同的性格，土豆有点害羞，鱼喜欢自由。
Foodoll: “I think different foods have different characters. The potato is shy and the fish look likes freedom.”
poyglet whispers: “So, that means if you eat potato and fish together, you look like shy and freedom?”

As close as I can come is that my favourite characters and animals are baby pigs (piglets) and I have a collection of piglet characters of all kinds. I do not look anything like a piglet but they are my favourite because they are so tiny and cute. It is why I named my business after them as Iike to make and own cute things also.
Other than that I am probably best represented by my drawings. They seem as I draw them, like a mass of confusion and if you look at all the elements it often looks quite confused and busy, maybe disorganized, probably like me and my process, but once finished or looked on as a whole they are cohesive and ultimately well-balanced, quite ordered as well as pleasing to the eye.
